My mother and I got a fabulous opportunity last year to spend a day with some of the women who have been receiving micro-loans from JL Lane over the past year. Our journey out into the Quang Ngai Province was organized by Plan, a wonderful outreach organization with whom we work. When we arrived in the first village, we were greeted at the community center by the leadership team of the credit and savings program. There, they explained to us the entire checks and balance system behind the loans, how women are elected in the village to run the program and be sure everyone pays back their piece of the loan, and how they see the loans changing the lives of their neighbors.

Within 2 years, this program has achieved incredible results:
o 345 women received access to a loan
o 90% of them improved their income level
o 100% of participating women accumulated their capital through savings activity.
